Asked
Questions

not relavant
Do I need a doctor's referral or order to start therapy?
In most cases, yes. A doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant can provide the necessary order to begin therapy. However, for certain services like physical therapy through direct access, social work, and neuropsychology, a referral may not be required. Please contact our office directly if you have any questions, and our friendly staff can help you determine what documentation you need to begin treatment.
How can I tour the facility and speak with a therapist about therapy for myself or a loved one?
We offer facility tours at various times throughout the day. To arrange a tour or speak with a therapist, please call our office at 225-906-4097 and let us know if there’s a specific therapist you’d like to meet with.
What’s the difference between the Day Neuro program and the Outpatient program?
Both programs provide skilled therapy from licensed physical, occupational, speech therapists, and social workers. However, in the Outpatient program, patients only meet with their therapists and return home afterward. In contrast, Day Neuro program participants engage in therapy sessions, along with leisure activities, group sessions, and tech time.
What is "Tech Time"?
Tech Time is a complimentary service that provides additional exercise time outside of scheduled therapy sessions. A trained therapy technician leads the session, where patients perform specific exercises prescribed by their therapist.
How long do evaluation appointments last, and what should I expect?
Evaluation appointments typically last about 60 minutes per therapy discipline. If you’re being evaluated by more than one therapist, expect to stay for about an hour per discipline. After the evaluations, the therapy team will provide recommendations for how many days per week therapy would be beneficial and the appropriate duration. A personalized therapy plan will be created in collaboration with your therapists based on your needs.
What should I wear to my therapy session?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. Many patients prefer loose-fitting shorts or pants, a shirt, and tennis shoes for their therapy sessions.
How can I schedule or change my therapy appointment time?
Our business office and scheduling department can help with rescheduling or changing appointment times. If you need an appointment outside of our regular hours (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM), please contact us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs. We typically offer appointments from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
I think a friend or family member could benefit from therapy. What should they do next?
Your friend or family member can join you for a therapy session to meet with a therapist, schedule a tour of the facility, or speak with a therapist over the phone to assess whether therapy may be beneficial for them. If they have any questions about therapies, insurance, or other inquiries, they can reach out to our office directly and speak with a staff member for more information.
